Nestled into the sun-warmed Bordeaux hillside, this sweet cottage sits tucked among the native greens and flowering trees of St John's most beloved, least-touched side, Coral Bay. Coral Bay stretches out below you, it's sparkling harbor dotted with bobbing sailboats, its shoreline unhurried. Beyond it, the Sir Francis Drake Channel shimmers in every shade of blue the Caribbean can conjure and on the horizon, the verdant hills of Tortola. 10 minutes away you will find the beautiful white sand beaches of the North Shore and Annaberg ruins.
Located a 1/2 mile up a paved road then down a non-paved road about 1/16 mile, Hibiscus Hideaway offers cool trade winds, and is surrounded by tropical trees and flowers providing a great escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. There is a plethora of birds including bananaquits, hummingbirds, thrushies and more. At night enjoy the peaceful, natural lullaby of the island's famous coqui frogs.
A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended to explore our beautiful island.
The main level includes a fully-equipped kitchen, living area and 1/2 bath. It opens up to a large, sun-shaded deck for morning coffee, dining, after-beach relaxation or evening cocktails. The wrap-around deck allows for easy access to all three doorways and BBQ gas grill. The downstairs includes a large master bedroom with queen bed, desk and en suite full bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed, en suite full bath, and separate entrance from sun shaded deck with outdoor bamboo shower.
Surrounding the cottage are flowering hibiscus, orchids, plumeria, bougainvillea, Caribbean almond, palm, bay rum and flamboyant trees.
The cottage is not recommended for children under 12 due to the elevated decks and a patio with an unguarded 10 foot drop off. Also, the cottage is not child-proof.
